As you know I have worked in the entertainment industry for many years. In addition to my work as an actress, I am also an accomplished vocalist. Throughout my career I have performed; Pop, Country, Christian, and Gospel music. I enjoy sharing my faith with others and devote much of my time doing charity work. I am also an ordained Christian minister and the Executive Vice- President of the Tesoro Ministry Foundation; a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization founded by my husband Anthony J. Tesoro. I am excited about sharing my thoughts with you about; life, love, faith and marriage. Please feel free to write in with any of the questions or thoughts you may have. I look forward to hearing from all of you! Also, be sure to read “Life is for Living” my ministry and Christian lifestyle blog.
What does your faith mean to you?
Having faith in God is what gives me hope and keeps my life in perspective. Many people look at the world and believe that money, power, and positioning are all that matter. They do not realize that there is so much more to life than this.
The most important thing in life is realizing that there is a loving God who brings hope and a future to a lost and hurting world. The Bible says; “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NAS).
What do you believe is the true message of Christianity?
I believe that the true message of Christianity is hope, redemption, and unconditional love. The Bible says; “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NAS). God loves all people and gave His son Jesus to die for all mankind. Because of this, we can put our faith in a loving God who is greater than ourselves and able to meet our every need.
How do you deal with life’s difficult challenges?
Life is not always easy. Life can throw curve balls and unexpected challenges at you. When challenging times arise in my life, I turn to the Lord. I pray and ask God for guidance. I also open my Bible and read passages that give me peace, hope, and understanding. I try to remember that God has my life in His hands and that His grace is sufficient enough for me.
What is your favorite Bible passage?
My favorite Bible passage is; “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NAS).
How are you enjoying married life?
Married life is wonderful. I have been married for ten years and have loved every second of it! My husband Anthony is a wonderful man. He is an ordained Christian minister and is the President and CEO of our charity organization, Tesoro Ministry Foundation. Anthony is also an accomplished businessman and producer, and is the President and CEO of our production company, Tesoro Entertainment. Together, we do our best to make a difference in the world.
How did you know that Anthony was the one for you?
When Anthony came into my life I knew he was the one for me because of the pure love and adoration I felt for him in my heart. I felt an honesty and integrity from him that I had never experienced before. Anthony treated me like a lady from the very beginning. We have been married for ten years and Anthony still opens the car door for me and pulls out my chair.
Being married means sharing your life with someone you love and adore. I always knew that God had a special person that He had destined for me to marry. As I look back upon my life, I am so glad that I waited for the right person to share my heart with.
How do you juggle your professional and private life?
I always try to keep my priorities in perspective. This helps me to stay grounded. In my life, I place God and my family first. My career comes second. From the time I entered into the entertainment industry, I made a commitment to myself that I would never let my career consume me or take over my life. I love living out my passions in life and entertaining people. I always remember this; “Entertaining is what I do. It isn’t who I am.”
What are your greatest passions in life?
I am very passionate about my faith, my marriage, and my music. I love my work in the Christian ministry and I love making music. I really enjoy being a wife and I am looking forward to one day having children as well!
I also enjoy photographing flowers. It is a hobby that I have enjoyed for a few years now. Photographing nature is very peaceful and helps me to relax and really enjoy the world and all its beauty. I also enjoy boxing and martial arts. My husband Anthony and I train together.
I feel so blessed in everything that the Lord has given me and I look forward to the future. I know that everything I have done in my life and all that has been given to me is for a reason, and I do my best to use these blessings to bring God glory.
What do you do for fun?
I love the movies. It makes for a great date night! I also enjoy eating out and spending time with my husband Anthony. I like reading as well. A great book is always enjoyable. Additionally, I love spending time with my French Bulldogs Louie and Grace. In the summer time Anthony and I love going to the beach; Anthony likes to surf and I like to boogie board. I love photography as well; I love taking photos, especially of nature.
What are your professional goals for the future?
In 2007 I had my country music debut and released an album "Ashley Tesoro EP." In 2010 I released a Country and Gospel album “Oh You Angel EP.” In 2012 I released my third album "Simply Worship EP." Music is a tremendous passion and love of mine; and my music is something that I am very proud of. Additionally, education is important to me. In 2009 I received a college degree in Psychology. I am currently continuing on with my education and pursuing a degree in Communications. Additionally, in Spring 2012 Anthony and I are launching our ministry show "Life Is For Living TV." This is a Christian lifestyle and ministry show that Anthony and I host and produce where we teach people about the Bible with real life application, and give individuals inspiration and direction for their lives. Through this and other avenues I will continue my ministry and charity work with the Tesoro Ministry Foundation and helping to “change the world one person at a time."
